Joe Toedtling

Joe Tödtling was born in Anger in eastern Styria, the son of a train dispatcher and a restaurant owner, the first of four children. He attended primary and secondary school, then spent a year at the polytechnic in Passail. During his school years he discovered his love of acting and took part in several school productions. During his primary and secondary school years he also attended the music school in Passail, where he learned to play the trumpet and drums.

After school, he decided to complete an apprenticeship as a chimney sweep. During this time, he also took part in various cabaret productions, where he also worked as a lyricist and costume designer. At the same time, he also played smaller roles in the local castle plays, which are known far beyond the borders of Styria.

After his apprenticeship, Joe Tödtling completed his 7 months of military service with the Austrian Federal Army. There he learned how to handle and use various weapons and military equipment. During this time he also mastered the one-week selection to become an army pilot, which training he also transferred to after basic military service. During aerobatic exercises Joe Tödtling also learned how to deal with extreme situations and switched from active soldier to militia status to complete stuntman training. Shortly afterwards he flew to America. He attended the stunt school of Mr. Kim Kahana, who was, among other things, Charles Bronson's permanent stunt double for 30 years and also worked as a stuntman and stunt coordinator in other successful action productions. During this time Joe Tödtling was able to learn a lot from Mr. Kahana about the work of a stuntman and stunt coordinator and later successfully implemented what he had learned.

Joe Tödtling has been an integral part of the international film industry since 2009. With his impressive career, he has not only shone as a stunt double for Hollywood stars such as Benicio del Toro and David Hasselhoff, but has also worked with renowned directors such as Wes Anderson. His talent and versatility make him a sought-after artist in the world of cinema.

In addition to his work in front of and behind the camera, Joe has also set six Guinness World Records, documenting his exceptional skills and tireless dedication to the action industry. His passion for spectacular action shows has made him internationally known, and he is regularly hired for projects all over the world.
